Description of the Kirovograd region
Kirovohrad region is located almost in the very center of Ukraine on 24.5 thousand square kilometers. Administratively, the region is divided into 21 districts. The center is Kirovograd. The remaining settlements are represented by 12 large cities and 26 urban-type settlements. There are also more than 1,000 villages in the region. Another major city is Alexandria. Practically the entire territory of the region, except for the northern regions, is represented by fertile chernozem. Grain crops, sugar beets, potatoes, and sunflowers are grown in large quantities. One of the main attractions of the Kirovograd region is the water tower in the town of Pomoshnaya. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is one of the first hyperboloid structures in the world. Initially, there were about two hundred of them, but only eleven have survived. This form of construction was patented by engineer Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov. Its hyperboloid towers can be seen in Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Lipetsk region and other cities. A must-see for tourists is the Ivan Tobilevich State Museum-Reserve "Khutor Nadezhda".
